Mark Davis
Mark Davis is a Canadian musician who has been called “one of the most underrated songwriters in the world” (Radio Free Canuckistan). Kicking against the boundaries of traditional roots rock, he incorporates psychedelia, dream pop, electronica, soul, and ambient into his ever-evolving sound.
Mark’s third solo album, Eliminate the Toxins, was nominated for the Polaris Music Prize, while his previous solo release, Mistakes I Meant to Make, spent several weeks at #1 on the !earshot folk/roots chart.
Mark also leads heavy wave duo Concealer, whose debut, feted:fetid, charted nationally for six months and won DJ/Electronic Recording of the Year at the Edmonton Music Awards. He is also a founding member of post-country experimentalists, Old Reliable.
Mark has shared stages with Guy Clark, Wilson Pickett, Alejandro Escovedo, The Sadies, Pieta Brown, Rae Spoon, and C’mon. His recordings have featured appearances by members of Calexico, Giant Sand, Blue Rodeo, Preoccupations, the smalls, and Corb Lund.
As an arts instructor at Robin Hood Association, Mark co-created and produced two albums featuring musicians with intellectual disabilities. His contributions to Edmonton’s music community have earned him the Salute to Excellence Performance Award and a nomination for the Mayor’s Celebration of the Arts ‘Courage to Innovate’ Award.
Mark’s fourth solo album, Just As Somewhere, and Concealer’s sophomore album, It’s Immaterial, are set for release in 2026 via his label, Weatherbelle.
