Cris Derksen | Indigenous Series

In Recognition of National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21 & Indigenous History Month

A Night of Cris Derksen Works with Strings

In recognition of National Indigenous History Month, this performance is a celebration with the works of internationally renowned Indigenous cellist Cris Derksen. Cris is joined by the highly accomplished musicians Jessica McMann (flute, hoop dancing), Sylvia Chow (violin), Alison Zdunich (violin), Leanne Maitland (viola) and Marek Tyler (drums).

Derksen braids the traditional and contemporary, weaving her classical background and her Indigenous ancestry together with new school electronics to create genre-defying music.

This event is pay-what-you-can, starting at $5. All proceeds are donated to the Indigenous Artist Market Collective.
