Prairie Debut – Uchida Hoekman Duo with Akiko Tominaga

Celebrate the versatility and warmth of strings and piano in this intimate concert highlighting the contributions female composers have made to the classical genre. The Uchida-Hoekman Duo, featuring two principal string players of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, is joined by guest pianist Akiko Tominaga. Their program juxtaposes the Romantic-era creations of Clara Schumann and Fanny Mendelsson-Hensel with Juno Award-winning Canadian composer Jocelyn Morlock’s “Serpentine Paths” – a work brimming with vitality that explores an expansive sonic spectrum.
